The difficulty to put a baby to sleep

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get a baby to sleep? If you are already a parent you might know my pain. If you are not or you are one of those extremely lucky people with kids with an already built-in sleep functionality you won’t know what I’m talking about, so let me explain what is going on over here in our household.

Up until a few weeks ago everything was kinda fine. The baby was sleeping at night and only rarely woke up to get something to drink from us. She’s getting the bottle from early on – not something we choose ourselves to do. It was basically decided for us because the baby had to stay a week longer at the hospital because she had jaundice. Sucked back then because my wife was not able to start properly with breastfeeding and all of that. And that’s why in the end she’s getting bottles. Oh well. Anyways, that’s how it was up until recently. But then she started a growth spurt or something – she was restless all night, cried a lot and was robbing us of our sleep. And that’s where we are today. Of course, there are some days that are better and some that are worse when it comes to her sleep. Yesterday, for example, was quite good. Today, we’ll see. My wife is currently trying to get her to sleep.

But that’s usually not even the problem though. She’s sleeping alright. For a whole 30 minutes. After that she wakes up again and is incredibly energetic for 2 hours or more. Weird stuff I tell you. Hopefully this will get better sooner or later.
